This week a group of top bloggers from the USA, Canada and the UK who specialise in travel and tourism are having the chance to experience for themselves the pleasures that Catalonia can offer tourists, so that they can share their experiences with the more than 260,000 followers they have on Twitter and other social networks. Among the programme of visits put together by the Catalan Tourist Agency (CTA) is our very own Barça Museum.

On Saturday evening, the bloggers (who together enjoy nearly two million page views) were treated to a tour of the Camp Nou, the highlight of which was a visit to the Barça Museum. Thanks to the ‘Tour Experience’ they were able to visit the changing rooms, the pitch, the press boxes etc and learn a little bit about the history of the Club. The visit ended with dinner in the Museum itself.

A new way of promoting tourism

The blog trip includes Barcelona, the ‘Terres de Lleida’ part of the Pyrenees, the ‘Costa Dorada’ and the ‘Terres de l’Ebre’ and forms part of the CTA’s policy of adapting the promotion of tourism in Catalonia to the needs of the sector and travellers. Specialised blogs and travellers’ communities have a major impact and are a key source of information, and in many cases convert the bloggers themselves into influential opinion makers among their thousands of followers.
