The manager Pep Guardiola was awarded, after the first team’s training session, the Ramon Aramon i Serra award for linguistic fidelity, given out by the National Language Association.

The jury considers that Guardiola is the first manager of the Club that, since the first day of his career at the front of Barça’s bench, held press conferences in Catalan, which means that Catalan has been projected internationally.

Furthermore, the jury also places high value on how Guardiola has treated Catalan in the pressroom, whereby foreign journalists that follow the Club for professional reasons “have learned Catalan and ask Guardiola questions in our language.”

The members of the jury are: Ramon Sanglas (President of the Llengua Nacional), Núria Aramon (daughter of the insigne lingüista), Salvador Cot (journalists), Víctor Aleixandre (author), Rosa Calafat (Universitat Illes Balears), Toni Teruel (Universitat Valencia), Santiago Espot (President of Catalunya Acció) y Jaume Vallcorba (President of the Fundació Catalunya Estat).
