Front of the REVISTA BARÇA dedicated to Guardiola.

The June and July issues of BARÇA MAGAZINE will focus exclusively on Josep Guardiola, who has left the Barça bench after four wildly successful seasons. The special edition publication will offer up a series of never before seen photos of the manager during the Copa del Rey Final. The series of photos feature a shot of the Barça boss talking to his players before the match against Athletic Club, Guardiola with the Cup in the dressing room and a relaxed conversation with Leo Messi after the game.

Guardiola also offers up a heartfelt farewell to the BARÇA MAGAZINE readers. The issue will also feature a selected segment of the mural that Barça fans created for the manager during the Catalan derby, Guardiola’s last match at Camp Nou. The issue also makes special mention of the statistics that led to 14 out of 19 possible titles, the best photos of the manager and team over Guardiola’s four-year tenure and a selection of the manager’s best quotes while he graced the Barça bench.

A special ‘I’ll see you later’

The images give way to prose. The special issue also captures the farewells of the first-team players, President Sandro Rosell’s, vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu’s and the director of football Andoni Zubizarreta’s. In addition, Rosell and Zubizarreta each wrote a column in the magazine. “It has been a privilege to share these years with such a unique manager, who loves and will continue to love Barça,” wrote Rosell. The director of football wrote: “Pep has not only shown us that it’s important what you do, but how you do it.”

Another dear friend of the Barça manager is the filmmaker David Trueba. The magazine features an interview with Trueba where the filmmaker talks about some of the lesser known aspects of Guardiola’s personality and life.

Sections of the magazine, adapted

Despite this being a special issue of BARÇA MAGAZINE that focuses on Guardiola, the publication has included some of its usual content, like the ‘Qué noche’ and ‘El Ex’ columns. However, these sections have been adapted to focus on different parts of Guardiola’s life, like the day Tito Vilanova and the manager coincided in a first-team line-up at Banyoles in 1989, and the trajectory of Roland Koeman, one of the Barça players that had a telling impact on the Pep. Lastly, the column ‘Qué ha pasado’ focuses on the reaction of the Barça fans to Guardiola’s departure.
