Xavier Vilajoana i Eduardo (Barcelona, 2 January 1973; member Nº 34316) is married, has three children, and is the son of Lluís Vilajoana, who was a Club Director during the presidency of J.L. Núñez. In 2003, Mr. Vilajoana joined the Sports Commission and, from 2003 to 2005, he headed up the Club’s efforts at professionalizing the Futsal section, later returning from 2010 to 2015. In July of that year, President Josep Maria Bartomeu brought Mr. Vilajoana on as a member of the Board of Directors overseeing Amateur Academy Football.

Signing with FC Barcelona from CF DAMM, Mr. Vilajoana played for the Club’s Under-19 and Barça C teams from 1991 to 1994, a time in which he coincided with players like Ivan de la Peña, Jordi Cruyff, and Sergi Barjuán, among others. After playing in the Second Division B with L’Hospitalet from 1994 to 1996, and then with Gramenet from 1996 to 1997, Vilajoana captained the FCB Futsal first team from 1997 to 2001. It was during his time with Barça that he was called to play for the Spanish University National Team at the World Cup in Braga, Portugal.

Mr. Vilajoana is an industrial engineer with degrees in Business Sciences, Business Administration, and Humanities, and master’s degrees in Engineering and Renewable Energy Management from the Universitat de Barcelona, and in General Management from IESE.

Today, Mr. Vilajoana is the CEO of Grup Euroconstruc, which is headquartered in Barcelona and has offices in Brazil, Colombia, and Morocco. Since 2013, he has been on the Board of Directors of the Associació de Promotors de Catalunya (APCE), where he is currently one of the Vice Presidents. He is a regular speaker and contributor for several real estate seminars and master’s degree courses.
