In the first days of the Civil War, the changing rooms at the Les Corts stadium were used in a clandestine manner, as a provisional refuge for religious people for whom the Generalitat would later enable them to escape the danger that they were in at the hands of the guerrillas of the CNT-FAI. He even gave a case to the groups of clerics who spent the night hiding in Les Corts.
