Final Rugbi Top 14

Final Rugbi Top 14

This year, the final of one of the biggest rugby union championships in the world, the French Top 14, will be played at the legendary Camp Nou in Barcelona. Historic! Which team will be lifting the Bouclier de Brennus trophy in such an emblematic venue?

Fourteen clubs play in the competition: Agen, Bordeaux-Bègles, Brive, Castres, Clermont, Grenoble, La Rochelle, Montpellier, Oyonnax, Paris, Pau, le Racing 92, Toulon and Toulouse.

These are some of the strongest club teams in the world, and some of the finest players in the world will be vying for a place in the Barcelona final.

Because the best players play in the Top 14!

These include members of the World Cup winning All Blacks who will be looking to add the French title to their medal collections in June: Dan Carter (Racing 92) and Ma’a Nonu (Toulon).

Beaten World Cup finalists Australia, the Wallabies, are also represented by the likes of Matt Giteau (Toulon) and Adam Ashley-Cooper (Bordeaux-Bègles).

All of the current French national squad also ply their trade in the Top 14, and will be looking to win the national title with their clubs.

Next June 24, the Camp Nou will be hosting a rugby match for the first time ever. Here’s the schedule:

  • Fanzone set up near to the stadium where supporters will be able to have fun, and enjoy food and beverages.
  • At 20.45, an exceptional match between the two best sides in the Top14, and some of the finest players in the French championship.
  • An unprecedented third half, with a show by DJ Bob Sinclar at the same venue.
  • Fireworks to end the day.

Can this game break the all-time record attendance for a rugby match? We’ll see you on June 24 to find out.
