Ignasi Armengol


Mr. Ignasi Armengol Villà studied Political Science and went on to obtain two master degrees in Human Resources and in Public Management and completed the General Management Program at the IESE in 2010.

Professionally, he became CEO of the Barcelona de Serveis Municipals company, an organization that manages, on behalf of the Barcelona City Council, several key public assets regarding mobility and leisure. He is a former CEO of the main public bus company in Barcelona, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, where he worked before as a COO.

The Lluis Companys stadium, with the capacity for 70,000 spectators, and the Sant Jordi arena, with the capacity for 18,000 spectators are both top-class facilities prepared to host large-scale sports, musical and family events.

Both facilities have their own control centers that manage all of the technologies required to host such events as international rock concerts, the World Swimming Championship, the Basketball World Championship, the X-Games, and many more.
