Boris Serapian

Boris Serapian a Computer Science graduate, started his career in 1991 with the AXA Group, where he notably directed a complex technical re-engineering project which aimed at rationalizing the different life insurance systems. Firmly focused on innovation, he left the realm of large financial groups 10 years later to become General Manager at Metaware Technologies France where he successfully directed the activity in France. In 2007, he created his own company – Azadex – in order to make his expertise in business development available to foreign companies wishing to develop new markets in Europe. The success of his projects led him to work closely with Compuware Corporation (which is now dynaTrace) who invited him to join their team as Technical Director for Southern Europe Middle East Africa (Pre-sales SEMEA), a role he accepted at the end of 2008. He was contacted at the beginning of 2014 by the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club who were looking for a Chief Information Officer with a very strong technical and business background. Boris accepted the challenge which he has since taken up enthusiastically. In order to transform the IT department which was historically focused on infrastructure into a real IT Department, Boris relies on the Club’s major projects, whether it be the significant changes to the Parc des Princes stadium, or the digitalization of fan relations or even the design of the future training ground which aims to be highly innovative. He created the Association of CIOs of the major European Football Clubs from scratch. The Association met for the first time in Paris in March 2015.

IT Renovation at Parc des Princes Stadium. Challenges and perspectives

Renovating the Parc des Princes stadium without shutting it down either partially or completely was a key decision of the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club as it has strong ties with its historic arena, located in the heart of Paris. As with all the other units within the Club, the IT department had to face the challenge imposed by that choice, and it is that same challenge, mixing legacy and innovation, that Boris Serapian, Chief Information Officer of the Paris Saint-Germain, would like to present to you.
