Architecture competitons for the Espai Barça Project

From 5 June, just as was announced in the ‘Espai Barça, a year of work’ presentation, an international architecture contest has been launched for the New Camp Nou and the New Palau Blaugrana with the publication of a list of bid specifications, rules and criteria for selection. This international competition will take place in two rounds and will have the support of the Catalan College of Architects.
The jury is formed by five members from FC Barcelona, four members from the Board of Directors, three members from the College of Architects and one from Barcelona City Council. Furthermore, there is a technical committee formed by nine members, seven from the Club and two from the College of Architects.

In the first round, which will go on until July, the pre-qualification phase will take place according to the bid specifications and rules and criteria set out for selection. From June 5 to 6 July the period for handing in pre-qualification information for the teams will be open and in the months of July and August the technical committee will carry out its review and the jury will select the finalists.
From August until the month of December the second round will take place. The proposals will be reviewed by the technical committee and in the month of December it is expected that the jury will announce the winners of the two competitions.
