FC BARCELONA-REAL MADRID 2-1 (1992/93)

September 5, 1992. Round 1 League 1992/93

Unusually, in 1993/93 Barça met Real Madrid on the very first day of the championship. Despite Bakero’s early goal, the visitors managed to stay in contention and drew level through a second half penalty from Míchel. But Barça clinched the win with a late Stoichkov goal when the Bulgarian latched onto a Jaro rebound off his own initial shot. The way the season panned out was amazingly similar to the one before, with Barça once again snatching the title on the very last day thanks to a Real Madrid defeat in Tenerife.
