Pep Guardiola’s arrival in the 2008/09 was to mark a whole new era as his team redefined the game with their fantasy football. This game looked as if Barça should win it at a stroll, but a solid Madrid defence kept them out until the last ten minutes after Eto’o missed a penalty on 69, but the Cameroon striker made amends with a goal seven minutes from the end of the game when he latched onto a corner from Xavi which was headed on by Puyol. Leo Messi got the second in injury time when he rounded off a quick counter.
