After a year down in the second division, Deportivo are back in the top flight this season and Barça once again make the trip over to Riazor, where they have recorded four wins, three draws and just a single defeat since 2003.
0-4 last time around
The last time Barça travelled to La Coruña, they came away with a 0-4 win in 2010-11, the year Deportivo were relegated and the only time they have lost in their last 9 trips was at the end of the 2007-08 campaign when, with the league already lost, the team were focussed on the Champions League semi final against Manchester United to be played three days later. With a team full of fringe players, Rijkaard’s men went down 2-0 at the Riazor.
Hard ground to visit in the 90s
However, if we go back a little further, Riazor proved to be a tough ground to travel to in the 90s with 9 defeats from Barça’s 11 visits between 1992 and 2003, when “Superdepor” were in their pomp.
Overall, Barça have won 14 league games in La Coruña, with 10 drawn and 17 wins for Deportivo.
