Spanish winger admits: “there’s a long way to go and matches against tough teams such as Getafe, who will give us a very tough game” before the team face Madrid
Pedro believes he’s started the season: “full of confidence and keen to do my best - I hope to continue like that all season"
Asked about Alexis and Cesc’s start to the season, Pedro insisted: “there’s been a lot of talk about them, but they look sharp in training and they are playing well, just missing a bit of luck in front of goal maybe. I’m sure they will soon get the reward for their hard work with some goals”
With the international break over, the team will be back in action this Saturday, when they visit Getafe. One of the Spanish internationals, Pedro, spoke to the media this Thursday evening and explained that the team will be working to keep their five point advantage over Real Madrid ahead of their meeting at the Camp Nou on October 7th:“ it would be good play Madrid with this lead, but there’s a long way to go and matches against tough teams such as Getafe, who will give us a very tough game”.
Key weekend
Pedro reckons that this weekend’s games could be vital to the league campaign as a whole, with Barça’s visit to the ever tricky Coliseum Alfonso Pérez: “ a vital game, which we just cannot lose. We are all aware that this is a big weekend for us. It’s a small pitch and they are a team who pressure you a lot and they have some great players. It’s a tough ground to go to – like Osasuna or Bilbao, but we will go there determined to win because we know there’s a lot at stake there”.
Good start to the season
Pedro is pleased with his own start to the season and happy with his luck in front of goal so far: “I feel good and I hope I can continue to play like I have been. I’m full of confidence and keen to do my best and what’s more, I’m getting a bit of luck with the goals. Last season I suffered two injuries one after the other and that damaged my form – you miss games and you really want to train with your teammates”.
