The first team squad landed in Gothenburg just after midday today ahead of their fourth pre-season friendly tonight against Manchester United (20.00). Tito Vilanova’s squad had an early start to the day, with the plane to Sweden taking off from Barcelona at nine o’clock this morning.
Jordi Alba is in the 24-man squad for the trip, after having a short break following his return from the Olympic Games and he is joined by Davd Villa and Andreu Fontàs who are both getting back to match fitness following their long injury layoffs.
The Club Vice-President Josep Maria Bartomeu, board members Toni Freixa, Jordi Moix and Ramon Pont and the Club’s Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarreta all accompanied the party to Sweden.
From Gothenburg to Bucharest
The players will stay in Gothenburg until Friday and train there before flying out to Bucharest on Friday for their last pre-season game against Dynamo on Saturday night.
