Like at the World Cup final two years ago, FC Barcelona will be the most represented club in the Euro 2012 final in Kiev on Sunday. Seven FCB players (Valdés, Piqué, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc and Pedro), as well as newly signed Jordi Alba, are in Del Bosque’s side that will be defending the title won four years ago in Vienna.
Like Barça v Juve
Juventus also have seven players in the final, namely Buffon, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Marchisio, Giacherini and Pirlo, making this game curiously similar to an encounter between the Blaugrana and the Old Lady of Turin.
Motta and Reina, former FCB players
There will also be two former Barcelona players involved. For Italy, Thiago Motta was at the Catalan club until 2007, while Pepe Reina left in 2002. Italy also has Mario Balotelli, who came on trial to FC Barcelona in 2006.
