Barça B play the first of their two games scheduled in England this evening (20.45h), when they take on Huddersfield Town
Eusebio is very happy with the time his team are spending in England, which will allow the players to get together for a full five days, just a week ahead of the league kick off
The players and staff are clearly looking forward to tonight’s game, their third of the pre-season, when they take on Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium.
Huddersfield won promotion to the second tier Championship last season and should present a good test for Eusebio’s team. According to the coach: “they are a typically English team, with a lot of pace, aggression and intensity. Their main threat comes from the counter attack and their aerial game. We will have to play very well if we want to achieve a positive result”.
Eusebio also expressed his satisfaction with the trip to England, explaining: “it’s a way for us to work together for five whole days and prepare the new season against two rivals from another league. It also gives the players a chance to get some international experience”.
First training session for Sergi Juste
The B team trained on Tuesday at the Bolton Academy – the first session for new signing Sergi Juste. The session served to help the players acclimatise to the English weather, as well as allowing this season’s new players to begin to work with their teammates. It was the second session for Luis Albert, whilst Joan Román, David Lombán, Araujo and Agostinho are beginning to get the feel of their new team.
“The signings are settling in really well – it’s a young group, with a good atmosphere and a core of players who have played together and that really helps” explained Eusebio.
Bolton provides footballing atmosphere
The five day stay in England includes two training sessions and two games and the players and staff are staying at the De Ver White Hotel, which is housed within the Reebok Stadium and ensures the players can concentrate 100% on their game: “There’s a very positive football atmosphere in this country and that makes this an even more positive experience for the young players”, according to Eusebio.
