Raphinha scores FC Barcelona's 600th goal in the Champions League

Brazilian nets against PSG and joins the same list as the likes of Messi, Deco and current manager Xavi Hernández

The new Champions League format was introduced 32 years ago, and Guillermo Amor scored Barça's first goal preceded by the now classic anthem against Viking Stavanger on 16 September 1992. There have been plenty of goals since then. So many, in fact, that against PSG on Tuesday, Raphinha was able to celebrate an extraordinary 600 goals scored by the Catalans in Europe's premier club competition.

Here's a look at the other century-making goals that came before:

Gabri doubles up

The Catalan midfielder scored a brace against Sparta Prague in the second of two group stages in that year's edition on 21 March 2000. He set the record with an equaliser after the Czechs had taken a surprise lead, and added another, the winner, shortly after.

Deco makes it 200

Five years later, Frank Rijkaard's team trounced Udinese 4-1 on 27 September 2005 with a starring display by Ronaldinho. But although he got a hat-trick, it was Deco's goal that took the goal 200 honours.

Ibrahimovic up next

The Swede was only at Barça for a short time, but he certainly made his mark. In the quarter final with Arsenal at the Emirates (31 March 2010), Ibrahimovic opened the scoring with a fine lob over the head of home keeper Almunia. He'd also get to score goal 301 for Barça in the competition in the same game.

Xavi again

The manager for goal 600 against PSG was on the pitch for goal 400. In fact, he scored it! That was 11 years ago on 26 November 2013, and it came from the penalty spot against Ajax in the group stage, although the Dutch side won the game 2-1.

Xavi

Messi of course

It took five years to rack up another ton of goals, and there are no prizes for guessing who got the 500th. It was in the round of 16 against Chelsea on 21 February 2018) that the Argentine converted an Iniesta assist to tie the game 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.
