A Sunday to remember

Wins in women's football, basketball and for Barça Atlètic, while the futsal team conquers the Spanish Cup

A super Sunday at FC Barcelona brought wins for four of the five teams that had matches, the only negative note being the roller hockey team that lost 3-1 at Liceo, bringing an end to an unbeaten run of 55 games. For the other teams, it was win, win, win and win!

Futsal champions

The futsal team won the Spanish Cup for the seventh time in an absolute thriller of a final. They trailed all the way against El Pozo and it looked like curtains when they had two men sent off and conceded what looked to be the winner with just 17 seconds to go. But with everything against them, they scrambled an equaliser and went on to win the game on penalties!

Women topple Real Madrid again

Three league points are sweeter than ever when they are gained at the expense of Real Madrid, and away from home thanks to a 3-0 win and goals scored by Rolfö, Aitana and Graham. Barça have now won every one of their 14 meetings with Madrid, conceding just 6 goals in the process, and are now 12 points clear at the top of the league table.

Derby win

There was also good news for the basketball team, who won the derby against Joventut Badalona (75-93) with the scoring led by Dario Brizuela (18), Satoransky (15), Abrines (11) and Ricky Rubio (9). The win keeps the team in the hunt for the top spots in the league table and was especially refreshing following two defeats in Europe.

Barça Atlètic keep up the good run

The reserves have now gone for ten games without defeat in their division, racking up another three points this Sunday in the local derby against Cornellà with a stellar performance, goal included, from Diego Percan that leaves them just one point astray of top-of-the-table Deportivo.
