The Ice Rink was opened on October 30, 1971, at the same time as the Palau Blaugrana
It was designed by the architects Francesc Cavaller and Josep Soteras and is home to two of the club’s sections, the ice hockey team (made up of competitive teams and the veterans) and figure skating (with individual performers and ice dance groups).
The pavilion was built using reinforced concrete, with a jagged roof. The building covers 3,650 square metres and the rink itself is 61 metres long and 26 wide. It holds a capacity of 1,256 spectators.
The Ice Rink has hosted, among other events, important international ice hockey, figure skating and table tennis tournaments, as well as the world fencing championship and the roller hockey World Cup C. Several advertisements have been recorded here, and festivals and other celebrations have used it as the venue.
