The legendary Los Angeles Lakers player is pleased that he got to witness a Barça-Madrid and he says the Camp Nou "is the most beautiful stadium in the world"
Magic Johnson didn’t miss the chance to watch the Clásico. The legendary Los Angeles Lakers player was at the Camp Nou this Sunday evening to watch the Barça-Madrid showdown. The five-time NBA champion said that the match would feature “seven or eight of the best players in the world,” and that he couldn’t miss the game. “I’m happy that I’m here. I wanted to be here. It’s a historic game and I wanted to be part of it, I’ll be able to say that I watched this game in person, in world’s most beautiful stadium,” he said.
“Messi is my favorite”
When asked who his favorite player is, Johnson was clear: “Messi is my favorite, he’s my man.” In addition, he said that the city of Barcelona brings back a lot of good memories of the gold medal he won in the 1992 Olympics. “This city will always be special to me,” he said.
Before talking to Barça TV and fcbarcelona.com, Johnson met with the ex-Barça player Rivaldo.
The Dallas Mavericks
Magic Johnson wasn’t the only NBA representative at the Camp Nou this evening. The Dallas Mavericks, who will face Xavi Pascual’s men at the Palau Sant Jordi on Tuesday, also watched the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
