Thousands of Barça fans have shared the video of the players sending their greetings via the Club website, news media and Chinese based social networks
The video of the Barça players sending greetings for the Chinese festival of Autumn - Zhong Qiu - has been a great success. Just a few minutes after it was published on the Club website and on Barça’s Tencant Weibo page (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter), hundreds of thousands of fans had viewed the video and in the first 24 hours it received 150,000 visits.
The sports paper Titan Sports featured a front page photo of Cesc Fàbregas and Alexis Sánchez sharing the traditional festive cake which the players were presented with at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
The Chinese national TV station CCTV opened its European football programme ‘Total Soccer’ – shown on prime time across the nation- with the Barça players’ greetings. The sight of the players reading out a famous poem was very well received by Barça’s Chinese fans. The players have thus been able to thank the fans for their passionate support and the supporters themselves have responded with visits to the video and positive messages in return for the efforts made by players like Piqué, Cesc, Villa, Alexis, Bartra or Fontàs.
