Barça Regal duly won their 10th game of the Euroleague Top 16 at the Palau this evening, when they overcame the Turkish side Beskitas 86-61. The win guarantees home advantage in the quarter finals and at least second spot in the group with three games still to play.
Before the game began there was already drama at the Palau, with the glass breaking behind the basket Barça Regal would be defending. The Club officials were able to fix that little problem though and Xavi Pascual’s players didn’t seem to suffer from the delay as they got off to a flying start.
The 29-15 score in the first quarter set Barça’s win up and they extended that lead in the second quarter thanks to some great work from Erazem Lorbek to go in 47-31 up at the break.
Game slows down after the break
In the third quarter Barça continued to dominate and control the game, tough they didn’t create quite as much and the rhythm dropped a little. Even though the Turkish team tried to fight their way back into the match, Barça were comfortable 67-50 leaders as the fourth quarter began and with Pascual introducing Álex Abrines and Marko Todorovic for the final 10 minutes, Barça cruised into a 25 point win, 86-61.
