The Lithuanian player will face off against his first team, Lietuvos Rytas, this Thursday. 'Saras' cautioned that the Lithuanian team are dangerous when they play at home

Barça Regal travelled this morning to Lithuania, where the team will face Lietuvos Rytas at 18.30 on Thursday. Without a doubt the match will be special for Sarunas Jasikevicus, who is returning hometown. “It’s good because I’ll be able to see my family and friends for a bit, but it’s only a game, and we want to win. In my career I’ve returned home many times,” said the point guard.

Difficult match on the road

‘Saras’ warned that Thursday’s match will be difficult, especially due to the fact that Barça Regal play away from the Palau Blaugrana: “It will be difficult, like it always is in the Euroleague when you play on the road. Also, the game is in Lithuania, and I’m sure there will be a lot of fans and that the atmosphere will be excellent. We have to do our job.” On tomorrow’s rival, the Barça Regal player explained that “they don’t have players that score 20 points per game. But they play excellent team basketball, they move the ball well and we’ll have to be on guard.”

Two of his favourite teams

Jasikevicius started his professional career with Lietuvos Rytas. In fact, the Lithuanian briefly returned to the team in 2010 after he left for Olimpija Ljubljana in 1999. It was then that Xavi Pascual’s men were defeated by Lietuvos Rytas in the Euroleague: “We played a good match, and Barça wasn’t playing to its full potential and we took advantage.”
